WHAT ARE TWITTER CARDS?
Twitter cards are a type of code that you add to your web page to get your tweets to occur in a card-like pattern in the feed. The card shape is defined by a fine-drawn, light outline.
The code tells twitter to trail extra data from a webpage into a tweet and shape it a particular way. The code allows twitter to display content preview in the shape of a card as well as to display a link also.
The card highlights the content by displaying the webpage visual content, meta description in the tweet, and meta title.

It will directly land you to the website in a single click. But remember A Twitter card does not show any URL to click on. You have to click on the image only to reach the website.
Another way is when people click on your tweet, they automatically land up to your website. But there will not be any headline or display URL.
This type of card displays a small square thumbnail image to the left of your webpage’s meta description and title. The format is used to provide a content preview to users.
A Video website card
In a video website card, you will have to put a short video instead of an image. But keep a thing in mind that your video format should be in MP4 or MOV file. Since there is no size limit, still you can upload a video which may be short and up to 1GB size. People do not like to watch longer videos. do not upload any Gif instead of a short video.
It combines the look of the card format in the audio player and video. The experience of users is seamless since the audio or video plays within twitter. Users do not have to leave to view the video or listen to the video.
Just like before you can add a URL which you want to display and a headline that represents your work. There are some rules while uploading a video such as you can not post or upload a video directly from a desktop. You need to upload the video first in your Twitter Media Library.
If you have an idea to reach Twitter Media Library, you can go and upload the video there. And if not, Go to your Profile and click on the profile picture on the right side of the profile in the drop-down menu, just click on the media studio. Here you will be redirected to the media library.
Image app card
This means the small thumbnail image is replaced with wide images. This card still displays the webpage’s meta description and title. This card focuses on delivering a rich photo experience rather than just a content preview.
It only works when you already have an App and you want maximum numbers of installation on your App. All you need to upload an image like you did before in website card but the difference will be, it represents your App and not your website.
And the rules for uploading an image in this is that your image should be in the shape of a square. it should be in landscape mode and size 800 x 800 pixels. And if it is not, it may least to be 800 x 418 pixels.
After selecting the right image, all you need is to go to the list of countries and choose countries you want to shoe your tweet about your Image App Card. But remember you only select that area where your App will be available. After completing the steps you need to choose a call to action button among install, open, play, book, shop, and order.
If you want to categorise the App installation from different devices, you can easily choose such as iPhone or Android.
For an iPhone device, click on the drop-down and select the app you are going to promote.
For an Android or iPad device, you can click on the drop-down and select your App accordingly.
And your image App card is all set.
Video App Card
Video App card is the fourth type of Twitter Cards. It is quite similar to the previous Image App Card since it is also used to promote an App. The difference between these two is only for uploading an image and uploading the video.
The rule for this is the video should not be longer than 2 minutes and must be in the form of MOV or Mp4 file. And again the same rule for the video App card that it must be there in media library and uploaded from there only.
Use this card if you want to highlight a Video App when someone targets a certain page on your website.
Direct Message Card
Direct Message Card is the fourth type of Twitter Cards. This is like Q&A. In the Direct Message Card you have directly Conversation with people interacting with the card. They will ask their queries and you will have to answer them. In this Direct Message card you are allowed to add almost four Call To Action Button in your cards and all the visitors can click on those call to action buttons, And redirected to another message and can have conversation or can have offers.
